Deployment model: Singleton (one gateway instance per site).

Workload: Medium; performance scales with the number of monitored points and the frequency of “equipment scans.”

Components: Switch Edge Connector, Local Data Buffer, and Cloud Sync Service.

Data flows: * TCP 443 (Egress): Secure connection to *.switchautomation.com.

UDP 47808 / TCP 502 (Ingress): Local polling of BACnet and Modbus devices.

Failure domains: If the pod fails, the Switch Platform will alert on “Data Gap” or “Gateway Offline.” History logging is resumed once the pod restarts.
